WALES'S NATIONAL CRICKET TEAM

The First Minister said that the strength of Wales lay in its people.
And at the end of the month we will be leading our first trade mission to India. Following the Ashes match in 2009, we hope that Cardiff lands an England-India test match in 2011. That would be a huge boost to our profile - despite the ‘England’ team paradox.
Perhaps we need special dispensation to send our own official one day or 20-20 side to India the previous winter to get the concept of Wales across in that mega-market!
The third division of this season's European Cricket Championships took place in Belgium from 19 to 25 of August. The prize for the winners was a place in Division 2 of the ICC's World Cricket League. Not being noted for our cricketing prowess, it was a great honour for Belgium to be able to host the event, which saw eight teams from countries as diverse as Croatia and the Isle of Man play in two four-team groups.
The final was played in the Walloon Brabant village of Ohain on Saturday. Croatia beat the favourites Spain by four runs to earn a place in Division 2 next season.
The Croats made 200 in 50 overs during their innings, with Spain ending the game all out for 216, in a nail-biting climax.

If Belgium, Spain, the Isle of Man and Croatia don't need "special dispensation" to have their own official National Team, then Wales should not either. Please First Minister just come out and say Wales will have it's own official National Team.
