Welsh secure in global job market?

The number of Danes who fear losing their jobs due to globalisation has fallen 50 percent in the past two years.
Low unemployment and a strong economy have eased Danish workers’ fears over losing their jobs to foreign labour, according to a Danish Confederation of Trade Unions/Analyse Danmark study.
Only one in 20 Danes feels insecure about their position in the job market today. In 2005, that number stood at one in 10. In addition, only three out of 10 say they feel globalisation threatens Danish culture and identity.
Madsen (Centre for Labour Market Research at Aalborg University) said the nation’s labour contracts help employees to be less concerned about globalisation issues, such as businesses being taken over by a foreign-based owner.
‘The Danish job market is regulated in nearly every area,’ Madsen said. ‘When a foreign company comes to Denmark it isn’t to find cheap labour. They want to find qualified and motivated employees.

Again an independent Denmark making Employment Law and regulating their job market to suit the needs of the Danish people and economy. The British model of a low wage, unskilled unregulated, job market for Wales has failed. Powers over all areas of Employment law and job market regulation must be transferred to the Senedd. Only a Welsh Government can deliver a qualified motivated workforce needed to compete globally.
