RIGHTS

Posted by Jeff Rees on October 29, 2007 10:14 AM |

Former Progress Party leader Carl I. Hagen said he is grateful that his father used corporal punishment and believes today's parents should have the option of smacking their children.
Commissioner for children Reidar Hjermann stuck to the Norwegian line that corporal punishment for children is wrong. Physical punishment leads to the opposite of what we want, instead of secure children, we get insecure children.

Smacking is banned in Norway. Norway's Parliament make laws to fit the needs of Norwegian society. So it should be in Wales, the Senedd must have the right to make the laws that fit the needs of Wales not the British. The British do not have the right to make laws about smacking in Scotland - neither should they have the right in Wales.
