Flanders is to open a new diplomatic office in Madrid. The office, a Flemish embassy in all but name, is the eleventh of its kind in the world. The Madrid office will be headed by a Flemish diplomat, who will represent the Flemish Government in Spain. The new Flemish diplomat will hope to be able to influence Spanish decision-makers
Flanders already has diplomatic missions in the Netherlands, Germany, the UK, France, Austria, the US, South Africa and the EU. Flanders also has representations with the International Labour Organisation, the World Health Organisation and the World Trade Organisation.
A Wales diplomatic mission to our most important trade partners would be a start as well as to those member states at the edge of the EU like Ireland. That Wales with it's proud Health Service and International Trading traditions is not represented in it's own right at the the World Health Organisation and the World Trade Organisation is not acceptable today - when Welsh Government policies are different from those of the British.

Proud health service!?? You must be joking!! I almost died here. The embassador in Tallinn for GB did not show much interest in a Welsh exhibition recently.
