OLYMPICS REJECTED

Posted by Jeff Rees on March 25, 2007 9:59 AM |

Support for bringing the Olympic Games to Denmark has begun to fade after a critical report cites unforeseen costs. A Finance Ministry report that claims financing an Olympic Games is unfeasible could be a final nail in the coffin for the Culture Ministry's bid to bring the games to Denmark in 2024. Social Democratic culture spokesperson Mogens Jensen, who had previously backed a bid, considered the gaping difference between the two calculations as 'outrageous'. 'Based on the figures and the recent debate I don't see any way to bring the Olympics to Denmark,' Jensen said.
"Outrageous" that the British are taking Welsh public money to pay for their Olympics. Better for Wales to do as the Danes and decide independently if financing the Olympics is worth it.

I think the Olympics in London will be a financial disaster. With bad planning they already face problems.
