Norway is set to be the last of the Nordic countries to abandon a bicameral parliament. The division of parliament into two houses, the smaller Lagtinget and the larger Odelstinget, will end in October 2009. MPs voted in favour of the reform earlier this week.
Between 1 April 2005 - 31 March 2006 Labour Lord Kinnock picked up £5,522 in Day Subsistence for attending the House of Lords.
This allowance is intended to cover such items as the cost of meals.
Who pays for your meals?
An 80 member Senedd and a full return all the Welsh taxpayer's money taken by the British to pay for the British House of Lords would provide a more efficient way of governing Wales than we currently have.
