FOREIGN INTERVENTION

Posted by Jeff Rees on February 12, 2007 2:05 PM |

The first time the National Assembly Government has intervened with a foreign government on behalf of Welsh citizens living outside the borders of Wales (the Diaspora). Momentous!

Now the First Minister has asked High Commissioner Richard Alston (Australia)to explain why.

He said: "I know very little about the background to this but if this is indeed the case it would seem an unfortunate omission.

"I would be grateful if you could shed some light as to why Wales was not included in the question especially given the number of people from Wales who have emigrated to Australia over the years."

Question 12 also needs addressing and 16 and 18.

Scotland was only added to the census in 2006.
